Brock Bowling is a versatile radio and television sports broadcaster with over 18 years of professional broadcasting experience. Currently, Brock is a television play by play announcer for ESPN3 and the American Sports Network (ASN) covering NCAA Division 1 College Football and Basketball Games. Since November of 2016, Brock has been the primary backup play by play announcer for the Greensboro Swarm (the NBA D-League team of the Charlotte Hornets) as well as a play by play announcer for select college basketball games for both ESPNU and ESPNews. From 2004 to 2013, Brock worked in various capacities for the IMG Sports Network serving as a play by play announcer, studio host, radio production assistant and administrative assistant. Brock was the lead play by play voice of the Big East Conference Basketball Game of the Week and the Big East Tournament for IMG from the 2009-10 season through the 2012-13 season until the dissolution of the league.
A native of Garden City, Kansas, Brock graduated from the University of Kansas with a broadcast journalism degree in December of 1997. After working as a sports director and play by play announcer in three different markets in his native state of Kansas, including two seasons as the voice of the Kansas Jayhawk baseball team, Brock moved to Santa Barbara, California where he served as the play by play voice of men’s and women’s basketball and baseball games for the UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos.
In 2004, Brock moved on to Winston-Salem, NC to work for ISP Sports (now IMG College). Over the years at IMG, Brock served as the studio host of football and basketball broadcasts for several IMG properties including Southern Mississippi, the University of Washington and the University of South Florida. Brock also spent three seasons calling the play by play of Wake Forest Women’s Basketball and Wake Forest Baseball along with the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament and ACC Baseball Tournament for IMG and XM satellite radio. Brock also served as a fill-in play by play announcer for many IMG schools including Arkansas, Western Kentucky, Florida State, UCLA, Southern Mississippi, Wake Forest and Ohio.
In 2011, Brock made his television play by play debut by calling Arkansas Razorback Baseball and Softball games for Cox Sports Television. In 2012, Brock began calling Division 1 college football games for ESPN3 and added college basketball games to his list of assignments for ESPN3 in 2014. In 2015, Brock became a regular fill-in play by play announcer for South Carolina Gamecock radio baseball broadcasts on the Gamecock IMG Sports network as well as a fill-in TV play by play announcer of Gamecock Softball games on SEC Network Plus. In the 2015-16 season, Brock began calling TV college football and basketball games for the American Sports Network along with calling TV college basketball games for Davidson College. On December 10, 2016, Brock made his debut on ESPNU as he called the play by play of the Rhode Island vs. Houston men's college basketball game.
In his spare time, Brock enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching sporting events and working out. He’s a self-proclaimed historian of the Super Bowl and Kansas Jayhawk Basketball.
